Icebreakers

Count the Dots

This is a good exercise for demonstrating how patterns especially familiar ones assist learning and perception.

Hand out, face down, copies of the first picture to the left half the group and copies of the second picture to the right half of the group. Tell the group that when they are told to turn their sheets over, they should count the number of dots as quickly as possible and put a hand up when they have completed the task.

Debrief using transparencies of the drawings.
